Licensed Chiropractor

My journey to chiropractic took time, but when I found it I knew there was no other option.

Growing up I was constantly involved in sports, and my mom, being a proactive parent, always brought me in to see a chiropractor. At a very young age, I began getting adjusted and learning the philosophy.

During my junior year at Central Michigan University, I fell on the ice and injured my lower back and pelvis. A chiropractor was able to help me recover after a week of adjustments. Until that point, I had no career path and that event changed my life; I knew I was meant to be a chiropractor.

Make your life extraordinary
I practice what I preach. I believe the body needs four forces to be healthy; healthy food, healthy thought, healthy movements, and 100% nerve flow to every cell, tissue, and organ in the body. I live my life working to provide my body with those four forces.

Educational background and credentials
• B.S. from Central Michigan University in Health Fitness and Rehabilitation
• Doctorate from Life University in Atlanta, GA, in 2009

I started my working career as a graphic designer and worked in that world for nearly 15 years. Along the way, the stress, deadlines, and headaches of that business burned me out. I didn’t want to hate something I loved, so I was open to another path.

At the same time, I was a patient in a practice in Highland, MI, and the doctor there was passionate and excited about his office and life as a chiropractor. Though many chiropractors are brought to this profession through a personal injury and chiropractic recovery, I just loved the philosophy and science of chiropractic and how it frees and stimulates the body to heal. This was what inspired me to go to Palmer College of Chiropractic, and I graduated magna cum laude in 1999.

Since then, I’ve worked at and owned several chiropractic offices in the area, joining the HOH team in 2015. Of all the chiropractic offices I’ve been involved with, this office is the closest to perfect I’ve experienced. There are many facets of personal health and wellness here. I’m proud to be part of a group that has synergistic ideas on how to improve the health of their patients.

Licensed Chiropractor

I started getting adjusted by a chiropractor at 13-years-old during a summer full of basketball and football camps that caused intense hip and lower back pain. After a few adjustments, I was back to feeling 100%, and I knew this was something I was interested in.

I spent time shadowing chiropractors, and once I learned more about the philosophy and how chiropractic helped me recover and perform, I knew this was the career I wanted to pursue. I want to help others improve their quality of life through chiropractic adjustments and allow the body to use its innate ability to heal from within.

Licensed Massage Therapist

Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) Level 2 Certified
Natural health practices have been a part of my life since the mid ‘80s. As an athlete, I realized the benefits of proper nutrition and exercise.

These inspirations stuck with me as I studied Sports Medicine and worked as a therapy aide in residential and outpatient. The improvements I saw our patients achieve through massage and exercise inspired me to formally study therapeutic massage.

In 1994, I graduated from Irene’s Myomassology Institute. Our studies were beyond just therapeutic massage, and also included herbology, nutrition, and aromatherapy. These areas are all an integral part of my practice and my life.

I love to learn and update my training through continuing education courses regularly. It is a joy for me to share what I learn with my clients in supporting their health needs and goals. I incorporate a variety of techniques and modalities into my sessions. Everyone’s body is unique, and this belief helps me tailor each session and better accommodate your healing process.

Patricia Evans

Licensed Massage Therapist
My path to Massage Therapy started years ago when my mother and I were in Traverse City getting massages. At the time I was suffering a pretty bad headache and I remember being amazed at how much the therapist helped me.

At that time in my life, however, I had a different degree under my belt and plans for the business world so it was just a “seed that was planted.”

After a few decades of utilizing my bachelor’s degree and enjoying my then-present industry I began to get stressed and burned out and I saw it all around me in people that I worked with. I was dealing with some health issues and sought out care from a Naturopath. I then went to Massage School in 2011 as a passion had started to grow inside of me to help others. I wanted people to find relief from the stress and much of the pain I had been experiencing.

After starting Chiropractic Care and seeing a huge difference in my health I finally made the jump to working as a therapist as my career a little over 2 years ago.
I have not looked back.

My education for Massage was quite broad-based and so I am comfortable with several techniques and customizing a massage to each individual’s needs but I feel my greatest strengths lie within deep tissue, trigger point, and headaches. I continue to learn through continuing education and wish to broaden my credentials through learning additional modalities in the near future.

I’ve found my greatest joy in helping others and assisting them in getting relief from their pain and stress and I feel blessed to now be a part of the HOH team of professionals.
